Research at the physics department of University of Geneva is devided into 4 main topics : Theoretical physics, condensed matter physics, applied physics and muclear and particules physics.
The Particle Physics Department (DPNC) participates strongly in the experimental aspects of LHC, in the ATLAS experiment. It is involved in the tracker of ATLAS, but also in the EM electromagnetic hardware and the trigger device. DPNC is also very much interested in computing aspects related to the lague amount of date expeted in LHC experiements, the technical aspects of the upgrade of the LHC and of course data analysis.
DPNC is also involved in neutrino physics wich experiments like mice, T2K of NA61.
