Alexander Dubček University in Trenčín is a modern university providing a full range of technological, economic and management education in three cycles of study programmes: bachelor, master and doctoral in full-time and part-time form of study for more than 4000 students at present.
The University was founded on July 1st, 1997. It is seated in significant business and industrial center at the valley of the Váh river under the medieval castle, in the town Trenčín. Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín consists of four faculties and two institutes:
Faculty of Special Technology, Faculty of Mechatronics, Faculty of Industrial Technologies located in Púchov, Faculty of Social and Economic Relations,
Institute of Natural and Human Sciences, Institute of Health and Nursing.
The science-research activities at the university are mainly focused on:
Development of modern technologies and materials for the rubber, glass, textile and clothing industry,
Development and production of machines and mechanisms for material processing, the mobile machinery and for systems used in the defence industry,
Utilization of the synergic effects in designing mechatronics systems of a high computering level, intelligent control, use of the micro and nano-technologies,
Applying of the latest information in the quality management systems.
