The EPPOG Masterclasses 2008 will finalize each day in a video link-up for the students to compare their results with their international counterparts. Since this is the climax of the event, it requires a thorough preparation and beforehand testing. For this, the Masterclass schedule has been mapped on 2 weeks in from January 17th to February 1st, 2008. The EVO Masterclass support team has agreed to assist and conduct these test sessions. Still, before testing there are two mandatory requirements that every institute has to fulfill in order to conduct the test session and in order to finally participate in the international masterclass video link-up.
- The EVO hardware and software setup has to be installed and tested indepently by each institute. The EVO support is constantly available and will assist you in doing so. But please, aquaint yourself with EVO. It is necessary and must not be done during the EVO test sessions!
- Do conduct the EVO test sessions in the same room and with the same hardware setup as you would use for the real Masterclass event. We declare this a mandatory requirement for your participation in the EPPOG Masterclasses 2008. Experience shows, that switching the hardware or the room is always a source of complications and poses a clear danger to the smooth and positive conduction of the Masterclasses.
The test session schedule is a complete mapping of the real Masterclass schedule. The sessions will be held every day from 2 - 4 pm. Only the events on Saturdays have been mapped to the respective Friday before at 10 - 12 am. The goal of the session is a successful connection with EVO and a test of the camera as well as the microphone setup. The schedule is also available as .pdf and .xls file: .pdf-schedule and .xls-schedule.
ATTENTION! Marek Domaracky (Marek.Domaracky{at}cern.ch) from the EVO support team has provided an EVO video requirements list, that every participant should read and accomplish before the EVO tests. It is available for download as .pdf document.
NOTE: The colors in the schedule note the EVO test status of the respective site:
GREEN underlayed cells represent institutes which passed the EVO requirements.
GREY underlayed cells represent institutes that postponed the test
RED stands for those that have not yet met the requirements or missed to participate the test.
A summary of the individual test outcome has been provided by the Evo team within this .xls file.
