The evaluation of the masterclasses 2008 will be carried out by
institutes of the Slovak Virtual Collaboration (Kosice, Presov, Zilina)
and of US Quarknet. The same questionnary as 2005 can be used.
The masterclasses 2005 have been evaluated by using
an questionnaire in English language (available here in
word
and pdf) created in collaboration with the Leibniz Institute for Science Education (IPN) Kiel .
First results are published in the October 2005 CERN Courier issue. A longer article has appeared in Physics Education, 42 (2007) 636-644 (.pdf file).
A prevoius evaluation on smaller scale has been performed for the 2002 masterclasses
in Bonn and UK (.ppt talk, 0.5MB).
Thanks to the analysis effort of Gabriela Tarjanyiova (tarjanyiova@fyzika.uniza.sk), the results of the 2007 evaluation is now available partially. Gabriela was so kind as to provide us with the full statistics (1482 analysed questionnaires) in a SPSS file format. She also made first steps towards a global evaluation which shall be available here. If you have any questions or concerns about the data, please do not hesitat to contact us: Michael Kobel (kobel@physik.tu-dresden.de), Peter Steinbach (masterclasses@physik.tu-dresden.de).
