The EPPOG Masterclasses Project is an one day event, where scientific institutes invite
high school students at the age of 14 – 18 years to experience particle physics by
learning from and working with real data.
The overall agenda is the following: In the morning, students come to your institute
where they are introduced to particle physics, experiments and detectors within
lectures. After having lunch with the lecturers, their staff and their teachers, they can
work on particle physics data on their own and measure branching ratios from particle
decays. After solving simple tasks on the measurements, they are then invited to
compare their results with students from other countries in a video conference. A
possible agenda for this day, can be observed here.
Organizing this event is not a simple task. At first, we suggest to download this checklist.
It provides you with a step-by-step list you can roughly follow put up the event in
your institute.
However, what ever happens, we try to be of help in any situation
